1. You aren’t double cleansing
Double cleansing is all about washing your face in two steps to brighten and lift your complexion and allow serums and moisturisers to work more efficiently. Start with an oil-based cleanser like the Novage+ Comfort Oil-to-Milk Cleanser to remove oil-based dirt like SPF and makeup. Follow with a water-based cleanser such as the Novage+ Refresh Gel Cleanser to remove any remaining impurities.
2. You’re over-exfoliating

Exfoliating is a key step in your routine as it helps unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, and improve skin texture. But if you use it too much it can irritate your skin and harm your skin barrier. The recommendation is to only exfoliate 2-3 times per week depending on whether your skin can tolerate it. It’s also very important to make sure you’re gentle when using the product – don’t rub it in! We recommend you try the NovAge Skin Renewing Peel; its efficient blend of AHA and BHA will leave your skin instantly brighter and renewed.

3. You’re applying products in the wrong order
If you use a lot of products in your skincare routine, you might be applying them in the wrong order, which can actually make them less effective. The correct order to use your skincare products is cleanser, toner, eye cream, serum, day cream or night cream.
4. You’re forgetting the neck
Skincare isn’t only about caring for your face. The skin on your neck and décolleté is subject to the same effects of ageing caused by genetics and environmental factors, like exposure to sun and urban pollution. So, be sure to include those areas in your routine as well.
5. You’re skipping the SPF
Sunscreen is the best anti-ageing product! Make sure you apply it as the last step of your skincare routine before you put on your makeup. But here’s what most of us forget; if we’re outside we need to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours throughout the day to get the proper protection. And don’t forget to use a product with high SPF just like the Novage+ ProCeuticals Day Shield SPF 50.
6. You’re using too much product
Most of us overestimate the amount of product we need for them to be effective – think less is more here. Because you only need a small, coin-sized amount of each product to get the job done.
