Often found in cool waters near the coast of Sweden, this red algae is recognised to be exceptionally high in sugars, minerals and other nourishing compounds that help confer antioxidant, moisturising and revitalising properties.

Produced from the almond tree’s fruit, almond oil has superb moisturising properties for skin, hair and nails and is protective and hydrating, thanks to its vitamin A, B and E content. Laminaria digitata’s elegant sounding name refers to the brown-green alga’s wavy appearance, resembling a hand with gently fluttering fingers: Lamina means ‘blade’ and digitus means ‘finger’ in Latin. The alga also goes by other names such as kelp, tangle, Sea wand or Kombu, and is found in cold to temperate waters, including the North Sea coast of Sweden. A popular ingredient in traditional Japanese and Chinese cuisine, Laminaria is highly appreciated for its rich nutritional content of trace elements and minerals, making it wonderfully skin-conditioning and replenishing in beauty.
