Cooling, soothing and hydrating, aloe vera’s refreshing and moisturising gel has been used as a topical skincare remedy for thousands of years, and continues to be a much loved beauty ingredient today. Aloe may be spiky on the outside but she’s cool and calming within, consisting of a whopping 99,5% water. Besides heaps of hydration, aloe vera offers powerful antioxidant and revitalising skin care benefits and is a fantastic moisturiser for combination skin.

Glycolic acid is a sought-after saviour of sun-damaged skin and a go-to ingredient for brightening and evening skin tone. As a fast, effective chemical exfoliator, it encourages cell turnover, weakening the bonds between dead skin cells so they slough off evenly to reveal fresh, new skin beneath. Glycolic acid is in the AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) family of exfoliating acids, along with Lactic and Malic acids. Being the smallest molecule of all the AHAs, it easily penetrates skin and gets to work fast.

Furcellaria lumbricalis is a red-coloured alga that grows on the rocks of shallow waters and is particularly common to the cold northern Scandinavian coast. Also known as Carrageen, Agar-agar or ‘Crab’s bed’, the hardy red seaweed is able to survive in low tides and sandy, dry conditions thanks to its superior rehydration capabilities. It is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), so exfoliates and smooths by clearing your skin of dead cells. Being oil soluble means Salicylic acid can reach inside the pore, cutting through the sebum (oil) and clear away pore clogging debris that can cause blemishes to develop.
