This is probably because of the opportunity social and direct selling gives to combine flexible work with childcare, studies or working from home. A lot has happened since the 60s, but flexibility and freedom are still attracting millions of women today — as well as meeting new people, learning, traveling to new places, participating in business conferences and workshops.
Here’s what our UK Consultant Meg says:
— Flexibility is number one. I got to a point where I’m flexible with my children and I spend so much time with them [...] I run a business of hundreds and hundreds of people and am being able to do both, without sacrificing anything. For example, if I was a senior at a bank, I would not have the flexibility and freedom and be the mom that I’m now. Oriflame gets me that.

1999: World Childhood Foundation
Oriflame’s business reaches around three million Consultants and about seven million customers every year. That’s a lot of people. From the start, we have striven to support various global charity organizations, including the World Childhood Foundation, founded by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden and co-founded by Oriflame and the Af Jochnick Foundation. The Oriflame Foundation provides grants to social projects that support women around the globe.
In India for example we are contributing to education by supporting a school for women, which in the past decade has provided 7000 girls with education. In Morocco we have had sales of accessories developed by and benefiting a cooperative of women in each campaign. In Morocco we have also sold candles hand made by single mother’s in SOS villages.
2009: Oriflame Foundation
We have always been passionate supporters of fulfilling dreams. This is part of our business philosophy and in 2009 we started our Oriflame Foundation to further empower young women to change their lives for the better.
We work together with the NGOs and charity organisations like the World Childhood Foundation and SOS Children’s Villages. With the power of education, our goal is to build young women’s self-esteem and help them develop their talents.

2017: 50 years of success
6000 people, more than 60 nationalities, 4 cities, 3 countries — that’s how we celebrated Oriflame’s 50th anniversary. This was the biggest and the most exciting Global Oriflame conference ever, and the energy was electric.
Great parties, dance and exercise classes, skincare workshops and new product presentations, the famous Oriflame Rally opened by our CEO with a heartfelt thank you to his wife… Incredible shows and concerts — all in all, an unforgettable experience.
We got to hear so many fantastic stories from women about how Oriflame gave their lives shape and meaning. By being entrepreneurs, they wish to influence their children, setting an example that anything is possible in life and being their role model. Here’s what one of our consultants remembers:
— I did the speech at the conference and rang my kids straight after. My son, who was on a talent show with 300 people that day, picked up the phone. He said ‘Mom I’m so proud of you! You did it in front of 6000 people’. That was the most wonderful day of my life.
